About Winter & Rixon

Winter and Rixon is a new, Auckland-based fashion label that brings together designer Amber Rixon’s affiliation with fashion, costume and precise tailoring expertise.

Rixon focusses on classic design, delicate and unusual prints and fine tailoring. The debut Winter and Rixon capsule collection for Spring/Summer 2011/2012 uses rich, wearable silks and shadowy chiffons to create structured pieces that give a nod to a more boyish silhouette.

With two capsule collections released in accordance with the seasons each year, as well as one-off pieces and limited edition styles, Winter and Rixon offer a pared down, perfect selection of luxurious garments for women to enjoy. The range has immaculate tailoring and fit credentials, without losing a youthful sense of ennui. Spring/Summer drew much from 2001 film Donnie Darko, a tale of suburban displacement and teenage rebellion. Standout pieces include a perfectly fitting slim cigarette pant, a brightly printed ‘desert’ silk short suit, boyish silk shorts and sheer, cleverly pocketed shirts.

Rixon multitasks, operating as designer, art director and production manager. Early 2012 will see the range expand to include a menswear line as well as an in-house tailoring offering.
